As part of the Council’s Annual Apprenticeship Program, we have an amazing opportunity to gain work experience as an Apprentice HGV Technician, whilst studying towards a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair apprenticeship. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference, to serve the people of our borough, and who is committed to their own development.
Working alongside our team of workshop technicians you will assist the Council, you will assist in the provision of mechanical support, working on a variety of fleet of vehicles (Heavy Goods) and specialist equipment.
Whilst ensuring that all statutory obligations within the areas of operations are complied with, you will assist with, inspections, maintenance, and servicing, repairing and replacing parts, breakdowns, MOT Inspections, fault finding / diagnostics.
As this is an apprenticeship opportunity, you will be provided with all the training and support you need to be a success. We are looking for someone with the following qualifications, personal attributes, skills and behaviours:
• GCSE Maths & English at Grade C/4 or above
• Communication skills - listening, spoken and written
• Team player who is not afraid to try something new
• Commitment to own personal and professional development
• Interest in vehicle maintenance repairs

SALARY: We pay our apprentices National Minimum Wage for Age:
• Age 23 and Over: £10.42per hour - £20,103p.a.
• Age 21 to 22: £10.18per hour - £19,640p.a.
• Age 18 to 20: £7.49per hour - £14.450p.a.
• Under 18: £5.28per hour - £10,187p.a.
