JOB DESCRIPTION: Tees Valley Music Service is looking to recruit an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support our teachers in the classroom with whole-class practical delivery of Music lessons and also to develop skills to be able to lead small group and one to one instrumental or vocal tuition and TVMS ensembles.
As well as this, the postholder will support with TVMS concerts, events, workshops and training sessions for teachers.
This a varied and exciting new role for someone who is passionate about music and about working with children and young people.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: All candidates are required to meet the essential requirements set out below. Please address in your application how you meet the following:
• Functional skills English & Maths Level 2 / GCSE Grade C / 4 or above
• Excellent IT Skills – Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
• Grade 5 + in a recognized Music Performance/Theory exam or equivalent
• Experience of performing in public on instrument/voice – either solo performance or as part of a band, choir, orchestra or other ensemble
• Good communication skills and ability to relate to a variety of age ranges and abilities including SEN students

APPRENTICESHIP QUALIFICATION: You will be given appropriate paid time off work, to attend College and work towards completion of Apprenticeship Teaching Assistant – Level 3 qualification. PLEASE NOTE: You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in the same or similar subject.

APPRENTICESHIP BENEFITS: We offer an excellent benefits package for apprentices. You will be given a fixed term contract allowing you sufficient time to complete your apprenticeship qualification (see below), with the potential to secure a longer-term position to grow within the organisation. We will provide you with a dedicated Mentor to support you during your apprenticeship and you will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and additional learning and development opportunities.

APPRENTICESHIP DURATION: 21 MONTHS

SALARY
• Under 18 years old, £4.62per hour, £7,863per year
• 18 to 20 years old, £6.56per hour, £11,165per year
• 21 to 22 years old, £8.36per hour, £14,228per year
• 23 years and over, £8.91per hour, £15,164per year
