Newcastle City Council is looking to appoint a permanent Archaeology Officer to work within the Planning Service to provide archaeological advice on the built and buried heritage of Newcastle and the neighbouring districts of Tyne and Wear, together with the development and maintenance of the Tyne and Wear Historic Environment Record.
Proficiency and expertise in the use of GIS, databases and Microsoft Office will be essential. Previous experience of working on a Historic Environment Record or within Development Management will be required, along with good oral and written communication skills.
