Whitworth Park was opened in September 2012 following the amalgamation of Spennymoor School and Sixth Form Centre and Tudhoe Grange School. Both schools were highly successful serving the community of Spennymoor and the surrounding villages. Whitworth Park offers a broad and balanced curriculum and is committed to offering the highest quality learning experience to all of its students.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Premises Team.
The Premises Team’s main responsibility is to provide a clean, safe, healthy and temperate environment in which all students and staff can thrive and prosper. The Team facilitates the delivery of repairs, maintenance, condition surveys, grounds maintenance and works projects throughout the School site.
Composed of 2 full time members of staff, the Team works flexibly across the School to ensure the delivery of an integrated, high quality and value for money service.

Caretaking hours are Monday to Friday 6.30am – 7.00pm. Actual hours to be worked will be agreed with the postholder in advance.

This post is whole time i.e.- employees who must work all year around (52 weeks per year), including during school closure periods. These employees will have a leave entitlement of 26 or 31 days (pro rata for part time) which must be taken when the schools are closed. The holiday entitlement runs from April to March, under Green Book terms i.e. not academic year).
