Adult Social Care is rapidly changing in South Tyneside. We are continuing our exciting journey of change which focuses on supporting our residents to live healthier lives longer, promoting independence and wellbeing, whilst delivering personalised services in partnership with them.
Working with people and their families and carers’ remains a central part of what we do to ensure that they are able to make choices and decisions about their lives. Focusing upon individual outcomes; putting the person in control and making the best use of our resources are at the heart of our Adult Social Care Strategy.
Assistive Technology is a changing area of work. As a finalist in the 2018 TSA ITEC “Innovation in Tech” Award, we continue to look to invest in new assistive technology solutions to improve individual health and care outcomes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will promote and maintain the use of Assistive Technology to enable people to continue living safely and independently in the community.
You will be responsible for managing all Assistive Technology referrals, assessments and reviews for people with Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs or Autism.
We remain committed to developing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, of openness and transparency and of inspirational leadership, grounded in our values and behaviour framework: Moving Forward Together: Our Values; Our Behaviours; Our Future.
We want to recruit people who share this aim and provide them with the training and development to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
If you are committed to adults having choice and control over their support, maximising opportunities for independence and well-being and working in partnership, then this is the job for you.
South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.
