An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mental Capacity Act / Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards team within Gateshead. We are seeking to appoint a Best Interest Assessor to assist with the ongoing impact of legislative change in this area.
You will have a CSS, CQSW, DipSW, Social Work degree equivalent, be a qualified BIA assessor and be registered with the HCPC.
It is essential that you have knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards the Care Act and Safeguarding Adults legislation, policy and guidance. It is also essential that you can demonstrate a commitment to non-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities.
You will have experience of working with people with complex mental health and physical needs, the monitoring and reviewing process, direct work with vulnerable individuals, IT skills, excellent communication skills and dealing with difficult situations.
We would welcome applications from those who have both BIA and AMHP Qualifications.
