BORDERLANDS PARTNERSHIP
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT OFFICE

The Romans built a wall - but we’re breaking boundaries.

Would you like to be part of an innovative growth deal and a unique partnership?

The Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal is the first rural deal to be developed and the only proposal to cross the Anglo-Scottish Border. With £350m investment secured from the UK and Scottish Governments, we are part of a unique area which has untapped potential for growth.

With six key themes: Business; Digital; Energy; Place; Destination; and Rural innovation, we are now moving to the final stages of shaping our deal. We also face some challenges: an ageing population, skills gaps, low productivity and poor east-west connectivity – so we need experienced individuals to help us achieve our ultimate goals.

We are recruiting three posts to establish the Programme Management Office to oversee the delivery of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal. Secondments from the five participating local authorities will be considered.

Borderlands Senior Programme Officer (2 posts) (£36,876 - £40,760)

To work alongside the Borderlands Programme Manager, you will work with project sponsors, ensuring proposals are consistent with the context and ambitions of partners and provide support to the Borderlands Partnership Board and the wider governance structure.

You will have first-hand experience of both project delivery and stakeholder engagement, project management and knowledge of inclusive growth approaches. Given the nature of the cross border, cross Government and cross-party partnership, you should ideally have worked in a political environment.
