Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has an exciting new opportunity within the Fleet and Vehicle Workshops Administration Team based at Central Depot, Dormanstown. Redcar and Cleveland Council operate a fleet of over 220 vehicles for a range of purposes including but not restricted to refuse collection, keeping our borough clean and green, property maintenance and home to school transport.

The team are responsible for a range of administrative tasks including the operation of a busy fleet reception that supports the purchase, maintenance and hire of vehicles for these purposes. The team also have a number of back office functions that support the fleet operation.

You will gain valuable work experience supporting the team in the operation of Fleet Reception and the back office function which will include answering phones, face to face contact, using computerised systems as well as supporting the administration of fleet service tasks including supplier invoicing and data input and extraction.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work using their own initiative as well as being a team player. The successful candidate will be committed to providing an excellent service and be willing to learn and develop their knowledge.

This is a fixed-term contract for 18 months. National Minimum Wage for your age will apply after the first year.

Apprenticeship Qualification

During your apprenticeship you will be working towards the nationally recognised Business Administrator, level 3 qualification at Redcar Adult Learning, based in Redcar College.
Essential Requirements

Apprenticeship opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 16 years old with no upper age limit.

You will need to have a minimum of:
Grade 4 (equivalent to Grade C or above) at GCSE English and Maths or Functional Skills level 2 qualification in English and Maths.

You will need to be committed/willing to work towards the level 3 qualification. Applicants who have already achieved Business Administration Level 3 or higher will be ineligible to apply.
