This is Redcar and Cleveland. We are an ambitious council keen to build on our strong track record of innovation and partnership working, ensuring that we create a flourishing future for the borough and all of its residents. Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

The Adults & Communities Directorate consists of four strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, Neighbourhoods and Public Health. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life, prosperity and the environment. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co-production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 37hr Business Support assistant to provide administration and clerical support for two teams. This would mean working the first half of the week with the Safe Care & Deprivation of Liberty Team (DOLS). Whilst working the second half of the week with an adult locality team.

The Role will involve tasks relating to collating and processing manual and electronic information, inputting, updating and the retrieval of information from systems and data bases pertaining to Adults. This would include filing and record keeping, including sorting and distribution of sensitive and confidential information.

Both posts will also include tasks pertaining to responding to and ensuring timely responses to telephone and face to face queries relating to Adult social care and DoLS. The post will include timely communication with colleagues from internal and external partner agencies.

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated business support assistant who is week organised and has a calm approach to a busy workload. An individual who is flexible to support both teams, team player and a positive can do attitude. The successful candidate will be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information and have excellent communication and coordination skills alongside demonstrating robust IT skills.

If you believe you have the personal qualities and characteristics we are looking for then we would like to hear from you. If you would like to learn more about the role please contact the Safe Care team on 01642 444485 or Sean Wearn 01642 771738.

The council is an accredited Investors in People employer at gold level and holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.
