We are proud that Together for Children has been rated ‘Outstanding’ in a recent judgement by Ofsted. Together for Children works on behalf of Sunderland City Council to deliver children’s services in the city.

The successful applicant will be based within a busy team providing effective administrative support to our children’s social care teams. The ability to manage and prioritise workloads is essential to the service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has previously worked in a busy office environment and preferably minute taking experience. You should also have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages, together with a clear understanding of the need for confidentiality. You will be well organised, with good attention to detail and can manage priorities. Applicants must have a minimum of Maths and English GCSEs at grade 9-4, A-C and a NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

Your main duties specific to this post include, answering incoming telephone calls which include dealing with customer enquiries, taking accurate messages and forwarding calls to the relevant officer, reception duties including meeting and greeting visitors, deal with incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail for courier collection, room bookings, organising meetings and provide a typing service producing various different documents and letters, input and retrieve information from Liquid Logic which is our electronic records system, issue petty cash, create purchase orders using our SAP system, photocopying, laminating and scanning documents and other duties in line with the grade of the post.
