CYPS - Strategic Manager – Safeguarding & Professional Practice

There are exciting opportunities to join the senior leadership team in Durham’s Children’s Social Care Service following a recent restructure. Durham is committed to ensuring that every child and family receives a high quality social work service which is child and outcome focused. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable social care practice leader who will join the team and drive forward our vision. We are currently embedding the Signs of Safety social work practice model across the whole service and are committed to practice which is strengths based and focused on developing high quality relationships with children and families.

We are looking to recruit a Strategic Manager – Safeguarding and Professional Practice - a new role which includes the role of Principal Social Worker and responsibility for embedding consistent high quality social work practice across the service . The post holder will manage the Independent Reviewing Officer Service and the Service Improvement Team as well as the LADO.

Required qualifications:

• Final professional qualification in Social Work
• HCPC Registration
• Degree in related professional area
• MBA or management qualification
