About Us
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s award-winning apprenticeship scheme offers the perfect opportunity to earn while you learn. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience, develop essential skills, and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.  We’re proud of the positive impact our apprenticeships have on the local community, helping to build skills and improve future career prospects.

About the Role
We have an exciting new opportunity within the Care Systems Team, offering a hybrid working approach. The team at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is responsible for supporting and maintaining a range of critical systems across Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, and Education.

Our team plays a key role in supporting the systems that help deliver vital services to local communities, including Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, and Education. From day one, you’ll be part of a team that makes a real impact.

As an apprentice, you’ll gain hands on experience in a busy helpdesk environment, learning how to support and maintain important systems such as Children’s Social Care (LAS), Adult Social Care (LAS and ContrOCC), and MRI Software. You’ll build practical skills in troubleshooting issues, solving problems, and helping users, while also creating helpful guides, documentation, and training videos.

Apprenticeship Qualification
During your apprenticeship, you will work towards the Level 3 Digital Support Technician qualification which is a nationally recognised standard.

This programme covers a broad range of essential digital support skills, including helpdesk operations, system support, data management, security, and effective communication. You’ll learn through a combination of hands-on experience and structured training, building the knowledge and confidence needed to support systems and users in a real working environment.

This is a fixed term apprenticeship for 17 months with the opportunity to apply for any internal positions within the Council.

What You’ll Get
  • A great start to your career with real, hands-on experience
  • A nationally recognised qualification
  • Support and mentoring from experienced colleagues
  • Opportunities to grow and apply for permanent roles within the Council
  • Generous annual leave and access to excellent staff benefits
