The Governors of Prudhoe Castle First School wish to appoint a school caretaker.
Main duties:
To ensure that the buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest possible standards and consistently monitor the state of repair and cleanliness of the site.
Take responsibility for the security of the site including checking and supervising visitors to the school, as required.
Take responsibility for cleaning of footpaths and playgrounds including the removal of hazardous materials.
Daily inspections of heating systems to ensure satisfactory operation.
Daily risk assessment of outdoor play facilities – complete log to record
Security of the premises including operation and monitoring of fire and intruder alarms and completing relevant log. Set and unset the alarms to ensure the buildings are secure.
Carry out general preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Carry out minor repairs and decoration within the school building.
Maintain and take responsibility for all statutory and routine services and repairs.
Order, maintain and distribute stock and supplies.
Ensure appropriate action is taken to ensure safety of children, staff and visitors
Carry out portering duties, including storage and distribution of goods delivered to school and safe movement of furniture and equipment between classrooms.
Remove litter and other materials from inside and outside the school, emptying litter bins in a safe and responsible manner.
Spot clean spillages, body waste and fluids as required including rigorous cleaning of toilets and washrooms to maintain health and safety standards.
Ensure that the site is kept safe, gritted and clear of snow during periods of poor weather.
Ensure that grounds and buildings remain clear of leaves.
Ensure that school has a regular deep cleaning process and instigate deep cleaning procedures during periods of sickness
