We are seeking to recruit a Permanent Caretaker to work in our small rural school for 15 hours a week term time, plus 3 additional weeks. It is expected that work will be undertaken outside school hours.
Duties will include daily cleaning, and undertaking minor repairs and maintenance, so this role would suit someone who is good with their hands and has experience of basic joinery, plastering, painting/decorating or similar.
Previous experience of being a school caretaker will be an advantage but this role could also suit someone who is looking to try this out for the first time.
Tasks will vary depending on the needs of the school; cleaning will be required daily during term time, but additional duties will include building maintenance, repairs, decorating, and seasonal exterior work such as snow clearing and clearing gutters. The successful candidate will be required to be a key holder for the school in case of need.
