Permanent - 27.5 hours per week (7.00 - 9.30am and 3.00 - 6.00pm Monday to Friday)
Actual hours worked during school holiday periods to be negotiated with the Head Teacher and School Business Manager, and are dependent on school needs.

The Head Teacher and Governors of Washingwell Community Primary School
are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated person to join our team as soon as possible and take on the extremely important role of school Caretaker.

Graded Good, Ofsted February 2016: 'The warm buzz that permeates the school, its positive ethos, helps pupils feel settled and welcome. The orderly environment is comforting and supports skills of independence. Pupils' conduct and attitudes to learning are a strength of the schools work.'

We are looking for a self-motivated, well organised, conscientious and reliable person who will provide a key role in maintaining our school site to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community.

The successful applicant will be required to drive a school mini bus on occasions , so will need to hold a Category D1 Licence or must have held a Category B licence for at least two years, be over the age of 21 and be willing to undertake the relevant driving test to upgrade their licence to include D1.

Ideally, you will be practical with a range of DIY skills that will support the general repairs and maintenance in school. You will undertake cleaning duties on a daily basis, as well as health and safety checks (ensuring accurate and timely reporting of any issues) and the upkeep/maintenance of the school external grounds.

Visits to the school are greatly encouraged and will take place as follows:
Wednesday 31 May at 10.30am
Monday 5 June at 4.00pm
