Hartlepool Borough Council’s Adult Education Service has set ambitious plans for the future as informed within the Adult Education Strategy 2016-2026 which supports the Council’s priorities of improving employment and skills levels, a culture of entrepreneurship, regeneration, business growth, community learning, community cohesion and supporting with the reduction of child and family poverty.
From a previous Ofsted inspection in December 2013 the Service is graded as Good and in recent years it has undergone significant and positive transformational changes to move it closer to becoming an outstanding training provider. The Service is the first Adult Education in the country to secure Investors in Volunteering and Investors in Careers in 2016 and 2017 respectively, alongside the matrix Standard already secured, outlining the commitment to high quality services offered to learners, the community and businesses.
Building on the strengths of a dedicated, committed and forward thinking team of staff and volunteers, Adult Education are now seeking to appoint new Tutor/Assessors to add to it’s casual register, in particular to teach English, Maths, ICT and/or ESOL. Suitable candidates will hold a full teaching/assessing qualification, English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 and a relevant subject qualification at a minimum of level 3.
For Maths, English, ICT and ESOL positions, applicants must hold a subject specialist qualification at Level 4/5 as well as a teaching qualification.
Should you be successful in being appointed to the casual register, you will be notified of suitable fixed term opportunities as they arrive. Daytime, evening and weekend classes may be available.
There are opportunities within a range of accredited and non accredited programmes in areas including Functional Skills, GCSE, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Family Learning, Community Learning, Work Based Learning.
