Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued, and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

We are looking for someone to join our Community Protection team, to contribute to the Council’s vision to ensure Stockton on Tees remains a safe place to live, visit and work as well as attracting new people to the heavily invested Town Centres across the Borough. As a Security Officer for Stockton Borough Council, you will actively play a lead role in ensuring this vision is a success.
Working centrally to many partners such as Cleveland Police, Fire Brigade and Environment Agency, you will play a vital position in collating evidence for crimes and anti-social behaviour, protecting both Council and private assets, open public areas, and act as a response officer to alarm activations across the network of assets that have invested into the service.

Using bespoke CCTV equipment, our aim is to:

• Prevent and detect crime whilst collating evidence to support prosecutions.
• Prevent and detect anti-social behaviour
• Reducing fear of crime within the Borough
• Protect Council assets/private businesses and public assets and property.
• Reduce environmental crime such as fly tipping and littering
• Support the emergency planning response.

The role involves working in a CCTV centre operation 24/7, 365 days a year, which has control of over 300 cameras located throughout the Borough. The role is no doubt challenging, but equally rewarding and satisfying.
We are looking for the right candidate to come work alongside an award-winning team where full training, including SIA badge, will be provided. We are asking for candidates who have effective communication skills, the ability to perform under pressure and determination for success to come forward.

Please ensure you refer to the Job Description and the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification when completing the Personal Statement on the application form, as this information is used to select candidates for interview.

We offer an excellent total reward package including a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme, and annual leave entitlement (Casual staff enhanced rate) as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

If you would like an informal discussion about the post, please contact Paul Leonard, Security and Surveillance manager on 01642 527600
