Sunderland City Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced procurement professional to join our Corporate Procurement team as a Category Manager to provide a professional, customer-focused service within a Category Management Framework.

The Council believes that all procurement goods/works/service categories are transferrable, therefore we welcome applications from anyone specialising in any procurement category.

The post holder will develop and implement procurement scoping strategies to determine the optimum route to market for a diverse range of contract opportunities in category areas of spend within agreed resources and timescales.

A key outcome is to achieve best value and cost effectiveness, via innovative approaches with an emphasis on minimising costs and commercial risk whilst achieving cash releasing savings without impacting on quality.

The Salary range is £32,486 - £36,379 / £38,237 - £41,966 (progression rules apply)
