Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums (TWAM) is a large and successful archive and museum service managing nine venues in Newcastle, Gateshead, North and South Tyneside. The museum collection reflect a period of collection of over 200 years and number approximately nearly 1.1 million items, while the archive collections are among the largest in the country.
This is an exciting time to join TWAM, as it starts work on a 4 year project, to make sense of the world through compelling stories of heritage, art, culture and science and welcome £1.5 million visitors a year. Arts Council England has awarded TWAM £12.5m, and we need to secure the support of philanthropists, trusts, foundations and companies to raise a further £2m by 2022.
To support TWAM’s fundraising efforts, we are looking to recruit a Chief Fundraising Officer to provide leadership and management to deliver income growth plans. The Chief Fundraising Officer will be responsible for ensuring that TWAM’s fundraising narrative and priorities are communicated both across the organisation and externally into the potential donor community. This post will be the line manager of five posts in the Development Team.
