We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the operations of the Middlesbrough and Hartlepool Development Corporations (MDC and HDC). The COO will take executive responsibility for daily operations, project delivery, and the overall strategic direction of both DCs, ensuring high performance, cost-efficiency, and alignment with organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities
  • Overseeing staff leadership and management, fostering a culture of innovation and economic growth
  • Actively engaging with investors, landowners, and business stakeholders to maximise regional regeneration and inward investment.
  • The COO will also play an ambassadorial role, promoting the DC areas, shaping long-term economic growth strategies, and ensuring effective community and partner engagement.
  • Reporting to the Group Chief Executive and Group Director of Finance and Resources, the COO will drive continuous improvement, accountability, and high-quality outcomes across all projects.
