We are seeking to recruit suitable people to work within our Children's Homes. The homes provide care for a small number of children and young people and are situated in the Middlesbrough area.
We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.
The successful candidates will expected to manager the service in the registered managers absence, complete supervision of staff, experience of delivering training to staff, provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service. This will include working with children with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.
The successful candidates will be based initially in a named Home, but will be expected to be prepared to work in any Middlesbrough Children's Home or Centre as needed, or to work with children who are living in the community or within their own homes.
Applicants must:
Have a recognised QCF level 3 diploma in Residential care in working with children and young people or an equivalent qualification.
Experience of working with children and young people
An understanding of child development and challenging behavior
A positive attitude and the ability to work with young people
Prior experience of working in Residential services for young people
Previous experience of supervision of staff
You will also be required to work unsocial hours - including week-ends, bank holidays and nights. A Full UK Driving License is a requirement for this post
