Residential Homes Manager

Children's Homes provide long term care for a maximum of 5 young people with emotional and behavioural issues. The post holder will be required to be registered with Ofsted as the manager of a children’s home. They will be responsible for the management of a staff team of around 12-14 people. Their duties will be to facilitate the staff team in providing a warm and homely environment in which young people who are Looked After by the Council can make excellent progress and achieve the best possible outcomes..

Duties will include supervision and support of staff, development of the home, delegation of tasks and areas of responsibility and monitoring the home as required by the Children’s Homes Regulation 2015. You will be expected to operate as part of a wider management team and undertake duties and leads for key areas of service development as required.

The post holder will ensure that legislation is met in all areas using other DCC agencies and external professionals to support this task. The Homes are subject to Ofsted Inspection in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations.

Required qualifications:

A qualification in Social Care or related fields equal to or above NVQ level 4. NVQ level 4 in management or equivalent.
