Social Workers, Child Protection Service
Grade 9 Pre-progression £26,822 - £30,153
Grade 11 Post-progression £31,601 - £35,444

(salary on appointment is determined by length and level of experience)

Children’s Services are seeking 3 Social Workers to join our Child Protection Service, based in the North (Stanley), East (Seaham) and South (Spennymoor). These posts will be particularly attractive to social workers who have an interest in working under the Public Law Outline (PLO) process, and who enjoy using their planning, assessment and report writing skills.

We are looking for social workers who:

• Have experience of statutory social work with children, young people and
families.
• Who want to make a real difference to the safety and well-being of
children and young people in Durham.
• Share our vision and ambition.
• Have the ability to inspire the trust and confidence of professionals across
a range of agencies.

• Hold a degree or post graduate diploma in social work, or equivalent social
work qualification, for example the Certificate of Qualification in Social
Work (CQSW), Certificate in Social Services (CSS) or Diploma in Social
Work (DipSW)
• Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Have at least 1 year of post qualification experience in social work
• Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) - Enhanced Disclosure
