There is a vacancy for a Civil Enforcement Officer within our team. This is essentially a lone working role, although as part of a larger team.
You will be responsible for observing and enforcing parking controls in a fair and consistent manner in accordance with the regulations laid out in the Traffic Management Act 2004, Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO’s), associated legislation and locally determined procedures.
You will be expected to carry out enforcement both on street and in off street car parks, either on foot, or as a member of a mobile team.
There is also involvement in enforcement of Dog Fouling and Littering in line with the Cleaner Neighbourhoods Act. Your day will be spent mostly outside in all weathers walking considerable distances, so please consider this before you apply.
You will be dealing with members of the public face to face, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations.
Recent experience of working with information technology and experience of dealing with difficult and irate customers is essential.
You must also have good communication skills and be confident when working under pressure and in confrontational situations. You must be able to meet the physical requirements and demands of the post and must be able to drive.
