The school currently has 85 pupils on roll, plus 33 in the nursery.

We are looking to appoint a teacher who will bring their ideas, energy and enthusiasm to further develop the success of our good school. A teacher who has an enthusiasm for teaching and learning, high expectations of children's achievement and behaviour and the ability to demonstrate high quality classroom practice. In return, we can offer a welcoming and supportive place to work and a dedicated and creative staff and governing body team. Our friendly children are very responsive to the exciting activities we provide in our skills based creative curriculum. We actively reach out to all parents and carers, encouraging them to engage with the school and support their children's education. The school benefits from being well resourced, with support staff in every classroom.

We are a friendly and supportive school team and the post offers great opportunities for professional and personal development. This can include taking on and developing the role of Literacy coordinator, initially coordinating in a dual role with another member of staff, giving the appointed teacher the opportunity to receive training and support and develop into this role over time. We are keen to work with the successful candidate’s strengths which could lead to a restructuring of roles and responsibilities within school once our class teacher has been appointed.

Our school has an above average number of children who fall into the vulnerable category for many reasons ranging from specific educational needs to involvement with Social Services and similar. We are looking for a teacher who will be resilient and appreciative of the barriers facing many of our children and with support, will endeavour to reduce the impact of these barriers. We are a small school with four classes and a Nursery. We all work together as a very consistent team with a whole school approach. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to work as a close team member.

If you are motivated to achieve, have a good sense of humour, are keen to make a difference to the children you teach and to make a positive contribution to our team, then we look forward to hearing from you. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and NQTs.

Further information and application forms are to be downloaded from this site.

I look forward to receiving your application in due course; the closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 5th June, 12.00 noon.

Visits can be made to school on Thursday May 18th at 3.30 pm or Monday May 22nd at 4.00 pm. Please ring to book your visit on 0191 3868416.
