The Adults & Communities Directorate consists of four strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, Neighbourhoods and Public Health. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life, prosperity and the environment. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co-production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for two new people to be part of a team that aims to transform the lives of vulnerable adults. The post holders will provide targeted and intensive support to individuals and communities through consistent engagement.

The successful applicants will have previous experience of working within services for vulnerable adults & children. The post holders will have experience or a keen interest in the promotion of health & wellbeing and possess excellent people skills.

The post holders will co-ordinate partner agencies and specialist services to affect and sustain positive change for individuals by acting as the interface between them and partner agencies. They will work alongside the Local Authorities Health Improvement Team to deliver wellbeing groups in local community buildings.

The council is an accredited Investors in People employer at gold level and holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.
