The post is Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor working into both the Central and North Occupational Therapy teams working; base being either Alnwick Fire Station, Alnwick or Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth which will be confirmed following appointment.

The North and Central teams have a mix of Occupational Therapy Assistants, Technical Instructors, and qualified Occupational Therapists. Both teams are based alongside our wider adult social care services colleagues. 

The Occupational Therapy service works with adult residents of Northumberland who are experiencing functional problems relating to physical disability, mental health or learning disability. The work is varied with involvement in everything from assessing for and providing equipment and minor adaptations through to checking completion of some major adaptations and supporting therapists with manual handling assessments. The performance of the Occupational Therapy service is consistently high achieving the service key performance indictors each month, demonstrating the dedication to providing a responsive quality service to residents. 

We are looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in working in adult social care to support residents of Northumberland to remain living in the community in the safest most independent way. Someone who likes variety in their working day and strives to do their best for the people they are working with. The post holder needs to be able communicate effectively with everyone they are involved with to ensure safe and appropriate service provision. 

This post is a permanent full time (37 hours) and band 4 salary £25,584 – £27,269.
