We currently have a vacancy for a compost operative within Newcastle City Council’s waste and contracts team, the post will be based in the Sandhills depot.
We are looking for someone with the right skills and attitude needed to contribute to the operation and maintenance of the green waste composting facility at Sandhills in accordance with the waste management licence and all other relevant legislation.
You will have experience in the operations of JCB and large plant and clearly understand the PAS100 composting process.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a proven track record of using your own initiative, organising time and prioritising tasks.
In addition, you must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of machine examination techniques and be able to work without direct supervision to a high standard
You should be able to demonstrate in your application, practical examples of how you fulfil the person specification.
