Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for leading technical teams and delivering secure, resilient, and high-performing compute services?
 
We are seeking a Compute Services Team Leader to lead the Council's Compute Services function, providing operational leadership across server infrastructure, virtualisation platforms, enterprise storage, backup and recovery solutions, cloud-hosted compute environments, identity services, and end-user compute technologies.
 
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Services Manager, you will lead a team of Compute Services Engineers and Technicians, ensuring the reliable delivery, support, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Council's compute infrastructure and associated services.
 
You will play a key role in delivering the Council's IT Strategy, leading the implementation of infrastructure improvements, managing service performance and resilience, supporting business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements, and ensuring the Council's compute environments remain secure, modern, and fit for purpose.
 
What we're looking for
Significant experience of supporting and managing complex ICT infrastructure, including server platforms, virtualisation technologies, storage area networks, and backup and recovery solutions.
Proven experience leading and developing technical teams within a large and complex organisation.
Strong understanding of Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, endpoint management, cloud services, and business-critical infrastructure environments.
Experience of business continuity planning, disaster recovery testing, cyber security controls, and information governance requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to assess emerging technologies and drive the adoption of new solutions that improve service delivery and organisational efficiency.
