We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual for the position of Consultant Surveyor within the Corporate Property and Land Service. With a large, varied estate spread throughout County Durham and ambitious regeneration schemes underway, now is an exciting time to join us and be part of this delivery.
 
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
As the Consultant Surveyor focusing on Property Projects and Information you will ensure the team can respond to capital and revenue project requirements that sit outside the business-as-usual work of the wider team as well as managing the information collected and held.

You will also lead and support continuous improvement and development of policies, procedures and processes associated with projects, capital accounting and information. Leading the team responsible for this area you will need a strong grasp of the local authority environment, with experience in understanding and facilitating technical responses to project requirements. Knowledge and experience of capital accounting valuations, CIPFA and IFRS requirements, data collection, landlord and tenant, and property management is essential. You will lead and oversee the delivery of various corporate requirements and objectives, ensuring the Council’s property and land portfolio is managed effectively and efficiently. Also, you will lead the team responsible for collecting and holding data and other information including effectively managing the information held for the Council’s estate.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need the following:-
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, or relevant professional qualification
  • Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Evidence of continued professional development 
You will have a proven track record of delivery of measures to improve and delivery property and land-based functions as well as experience of managing budgets.
