Post title: Contract Officer – full time, permanent

Salary: £27,358 - £30,756 Grade 9

Job Location: Your normal base will be at the Civic Centre, Crook. However you will be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham; in a range of schools, colleges and independent private providers; and across the North East region and beyond.

Durham County Council has attracted ESF/YEI funding from the European Commission to develop a programme for unemployed 16-24 year olds in County Durham. DurhamWorks supports 16-24 year olds to improve their skills and move into employment, education or training.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Contract Officer who will work with a wide range of sub-contractors and Delivery Partners to ensure the delivery of provision meets the needs of young people and adults in the county. The post holder will manage the contracting of service level agreements with Delivery Partners and contracts with sub-contractors, supporting them to develop their capacity and expertise to ensure the successful delivery of provision on the DurhamWorks programme.

The post holder will demonstrate experience of contract management, managing externally funded programmes and a proven track record of working with partners to effect change.

Required qualifications: Minimum Level 4 qualification.
