Temporary Until 25/05/2019 or Until the Return of the Substantive Postholder

You will be responsible for all aspects of the work of the Contracts Team as allocated by the Strategic Waste Manager, assisting the Strategic Waste Manager in appropriate management and monitoring of all Waste Management Contracts.

Promoting continuous improvement, you will place the needs of individuals and communities at the heart of all services provided by the Strategic Waste Unit and the wider Authority.

Taking a pro-active approach to identify and analyse the impact of waste legislation, Government guidance, value for money, best practice, resource allocation and research findings, you will ensure that the Strategic Waste Unit and Manager is appraised and well placed to respond to change.

You must have significant experience of contract management, procurement and project management preferably within the waste management industry along with experience of managing staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in a related discipline

Due to the requirement to drive a County Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in-house Driver Induction Assessment.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
