Further information

As Cook in Charge at a Witherslack Group school, you’ll whip up delicious meals for staff, visitors and young people. Food hygiene is paramount and you’ll observe all regulations. You’ll also plan menus and consider nutritional standards. It’s a great opportunity to build relationships with staff and young people alike.

Along with a Level 3 qualification in Food Safety in Catering (or equivalent), you’ll bring good organisational skills and the ability to plan menus. These menus must be well-balanced and encourage our young people to try new food. Having catered for large groups before, you’ll know how to budget and order in bulk. An insistence on high standards means your food is always tasty and well prepared.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. Through our aspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Oakwood Learning Centre is an independent day school catering for up to 14 pupils with BESD and complex needs. The Learning Centre benefits from excellent staffing ratios and small class sizes ensuring that every pupil in our integrated provision is treated as an individual. We are part of the Witherslack Group, a highly successful and expanding national SEN Group.

Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.
