This role is based in the Culture Service at Gateshead Council and will be instrumental in building an exciting and sustainable future for the Service, by substantially contributing to revenue targets and driving the rest of the service to generate income.

Through sound business planning and market research the role will explore new ways of working to use the Council's key assets - such as Gateshead International Stadium, Saltwell Park and other Open Spaces, as well as 'prime urban spaces' such as Performance/ BALTIC Square and the Library Gallery. It will identify the commercial value of these assets, monitor and interpret market intelligence and establish an informed commercial market approach to develop vital income streams. The post will involve active 'selling' to reach different customer bases and target audiences.

You will have experience of working with the commercial events sector and be able to build market knowledge to identify and build a customer base as well as develop competitive pricing and tariff structures. You will be required to develop clear and deliverable business plans and oversee their successful implementation.

You will have knowledge of budgetary monitoring and implementation procedures as well as funding bodies and also have experience of using Microsoft office software.

You will have broad experience of designing and producing marketing materials, including experience of copywriting, developing online/ offline content and delivering social media presence and campaigns. You should also have experience of securing funding through sponsorship and bid writing.

You should hold a relevant degree/equivalent in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Economics. You should also hold a full current driving licence, with access to a car or means to mobility support.

In addition you will be confident and experienced in building business relationships and networks, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a friendly, outgoing and highly professional approach in the work they undertake.
