Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums are looking for an experienced front of house manager to assist with the running of Segedunum and Discovery Museum.
Working closely with the Customer and Facilities Manager, the post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, staff supervision and organisation. Duties include promoting customer care and excellent service; health and safety procedures, building management and security. Exhibition installations and management of events and corporate hire are also a large component of the duties.
You must have management experience, preferably of working in a museum or visitor attraction and possess good organisational and communication skills. You must also have the ability to motivate a team of staff and be an enthusiastic and lively communicator. The post-holder will work to roster which will include regular Saturday and Sunday working for the duration of the contract and some evening work is required. Availability for additional hours and out-of-hours call-outs is also required.
In addition we would welcome applications from individuals who would be interested in joining a casual Customer Service Officer register. A range of casual hours are likely to be available during the week, evenings and at weekends to support our venues during the Great Exhibition of the North 2018 and beyond.
