North East Museums is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. We manage twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Art Galleries team; we are seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Customer Service Officer, who working with the Customer and Facilities Manager will ensure a high-quality cultural offer.
 
The post-holder will be responsible for managing and supervising front of house staff to ensure excellent customer service, for day-to-day operations; health and safety procedures, building management and security. You will support exhibition installations and work to support managing the delivery of our retail offering, catering provision and the management of events and corporate hire.  
 
You must have management and customer care experience, preferably from working in a museum or visitor attraction or similar high volume customer-facing environment and possess good organisational and communication skills. You must have the ability to motivate a team of staff and be an enthusiastic and lively communicator.
 
Successful candidates will work to a rota, which includes regular rostered weekends and will be required to support some evening hours and call outs out of hours.
