Further information

Nurture Support Assistant required to join our highly effective well being team. You will have recent experience working within a school setting, with a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, or working towards such qualification.

The main duties will be:

To support with the planning and delivery of nurture and ‘Thrive’ sessions to groups of children across the school.

To tailor support to individual pupil needs, feeding back to the Class Teacher or Nurture Lead as necessary.

To support the teacher in handling pupil’s different behaviours, offering support within a nurturing environment. To support the emotional and mental well being of children from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.

To be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding, Health, Safety and Security, Confidentiality and Data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

To be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop

To accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits and out of school activities, as required

To contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school

Stephenson Memorial Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant employment checks deemed appropriate.

You will work 19.5 hours per week (3 days), term time only over 195 days.

This post is fixed term up to 31 August 2018.
