These are two newly created posts to increase management capacity within Mental Health Services, which enjoys close working relationships with Health and Think Ahead.

One of the management posts will be for the team who operationally cover requests for assessments under the Mental Health Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

The other postholder will manage social work team within Adult Mental Health (including drug and alcohol) and Mental Health Reablement.

The postholders will be experienced managers with current or previous experience of Mental Health Act/Mental Capacity Act practice. They will have a wide ranging knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice. Experience in change management, strong leadership and excellent communication/presentation skills are essential.

A strong commitment to professional development is required. The postholder should be able to work autonomously and work as part of a busy team of experienced professionals/managers.

Competent Information Technology skills are essential.

A Social Work Degree; DIP SW; CQSW; CSS qualification is essential for the post and proof of registration with The Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) is required.
