Further Information
An exciting opportunity has arisen and applications are invited for a Domestic Abuse Housing Outreach Worker. This is a fixed term position within the Council’s Housing Advice Team.

The purpose of the role is to provide high quality practical and emotional support to households who are living with, or have lived with, domestic abuse and/or violence and have a housing need. You will assess the needs of domestic abuse victims and survivors to ensure that the relevant support, information and guidance are available to them. You will complete risk assessments, undertake safety planning and develop outcome focused support plans.

You will work in partnership with voluntary and statutory organisations to ensure households are safe from abuse, secure a positive outcome, and promote the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. You will develop close working relationships with providers of domestic abuse services, particularly those who provide support to households identified with complex needs and domestic abuse.

By providing outreach and follow up support to households, and participating in the MARAC process through referral, meeting attendance and follow up work, you will effectively manage your own caseload and keep accurate and comprehensive records.

You will undertake awareness sessions for internal and external services on domestic abuse, healthy relationships and the support available. You will also deliver in house training to raise awareness of domestic abuse, risk assessment and multi agency processes and meeting.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within a domestic abuse/housing environment, within a multi agency framework. You must be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent organisational and time management skills. You will also have excellent communication and customer care skills and a commitment to delivering a high quality customer focused service.

If you are an enthusiastic and motivated individual we would like to hear from you.

Please be advised that this position will require an Enhanced check from the Disclosure & Barring Service.
