Further Information
Are you enthusiastic, imaginative and practical in your approach to working with children, young people and families?

We are looking for a practitioner to work across Children’s Centres and community based settings within North Tyneside to facilitate high quality activities and programs for children and families.

You must be someone who can engage the whole family in exciting and creative activities which enable families to learn together. This will support parents and carers to further develop their awareness of their children’s needs and development. Your skills and experience should enable you to engage hard to reach families in our communities.

The role will involve networking with community, professionals and other providers to ensure that North Tyneside’s children and families have access to a broad and creative offer of groups, activities and parenting programs.
As a successful candidate you will have the responsibility of creating, delivering and evaluating activities and play sessions in line with the universal children centre offer. These will be both term time and holiday activities.

You will need to be able to work flexibly within your hours across Monday to Friday; with occasional weekend working.

For further information please contact Julie Connolly 6432229

Please be advised that this position will require an enhanced check from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

In addition, staff and volunteers are expected to familiarise themselves with all relevant policies, procedures and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and safe practice with vulnerable adults. Within North Tyneside, safeguarding is everybody’s business.
