The school is inclusive, comprehensive in its intake and a focal point of the local community.

We want to appoint a Maths specialist for January 2019, to join our Maths department. This is an important appointment for our school, the main responsibilities for which are set out in the applicant’s pack which you will find on our school website, www.longbenton.org.uk.

This position comes about due to a long standing and much respected colleague leaving at Christmas. The successful candidate will be required to teach across the age and ability range of KS3 and 4. A proven track record of teaching A Level would be considered as there is the potential for the successful candidate to teach in KS5. The school have the flexibility to offer the post either as part-time (minimum 3 days per week) or full time.

In return you will work in a very supportive environment with students who want to learn and a staff who are keen to collaborate and develop their practice.

The Maths Department at Longbenton contains a wealth of experience and expertise in a number of different areas, and would be a great place to develop your pedagogy. We run a great number of successful extra-curricular events, and as such the successful candidate to get involved in the whole life of the school.
