Job Summary
We are seeking a highly competent Deputy Manager to assist in the running of Dubmire Daycare, part of Aim High Academy Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational individual to take a lead role within our wonderful, purpose built nursery. This is set in the grounds of Dubmire Primary Academy, including an area of woodland, which provides the perfect environment to deliver our unique early years approach.
Our ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, a passion for early excellence and a grounding in outdoor approaches to learning. S/he will be highly motivated, focused, reflective, positive and innovative.

Responsibilities and Duties
As our Deputy Manager, you will support the manager in the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery: You would be required to
• Deputise for the Manager in their absence
• Be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Daycare Manager
• Give support to other staff within the Daycare
• Work alongside the Daycare Manager to ensure our approach is embedded into all aspects of practice
• Take a lead role in creating a stimulating environment which inspires exploration, discovery and learning within a specific room and across the setting
• Build strong, positive relationships with families and other professionals
• Ensure the safety of children, staff and all service users through a range of procedures
• Assist in complying with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Training
Essential
• Relevant Early Childhood qualification at minimum level 3
Desirable
• Early Childhood HND/Degree or equivalent
• Safeguarding training
• SENDCo training
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
• 3 years post qualifying experience in an early year’s setting
• Experience of working in a senior role
• Experience of leading staff
• Excellent knowledge of child development
• Knowledge of child-centred approaches to learning and development
• Knowledge and/or experience of the Ofsted inspection process
• Experience of planning for learning on an individual child basis
• A sound knowledge of EYFS, including Welfare Requirements
Desirable
• Knowledge and first-hand experience of child-centred approaches to learning and development
• Experience of using online programmes to plan, record and analyse children’s learning and development
Skills
Essential
• Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organisation skills
• Ability to take forward the nursery ethos through day-to-day activities
• Ability to implement and maintain exceptionally high standards in all aspects of work
• An intrinsic motivation for constant personal and professional development
• Ability to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines
