We’re looking for a motivated Digital Services Analyst Apprentice to join our Digital Services Development Team and support the Council’s ambition to transform how we work through smarter, more automated, AI-enabled digital services.

About the role
In this exciting apprenticeship, you’ll play a hands-on role in improving and redesigning business processes using emerging digital, AI, low-code and no-code technologies. Working closely with service areas across the Council, you’ll help identify inefficient processes, build digital solutions using tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power Platform and automation capabilities, and support teams to adopt new ways of working.

You’ll contribute to real transformation projects that deliver time savings, better customer experiences, improved data quality and greater value from our technology investment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone enthusiastic, analytical and keen to start a career in digital services.

What you’ll be doing
  • Mapping and analysing business processes to spot opportunities for automation and improvement
  • Creating and testing low/no-code digital solutions and workflows
  • Supporting deployment, documentation and ongoing optimisation of digital services
  • Working with teams across the Council to understand requirements and support adoption
  • Applying good practice in data governance, security, responsible AI and change control
  • Helping deliver projects aligned to the Council’s Digital Strategy and IT Workplan
About you

  •  IT-literate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interested in digital transformation, automation and AI
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Keen to learn, develop and work proactively
  • Qualified with 5 GCSEs (A–C/9–4 including Maths and English)* plus a relevant Level 3 qualification
  • Experience with low/no-code tools or public sector IT is helpful but not essential — enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn are what matter most.
Why join us?
  • Earn a recognised Level 4 Digital Apprenticeship qualification
  • Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge digital and AI technologies
  • Work on meaningful projects that improve services for residents
  • Receive ongoing support, training and development
  • Be part of a friendly, forward-thinking digital team
