You will be joining a Supported Housing Team which provides a wide range of housing support and assistance to vulnerable households.

In partnership with the DCLG and Gateshead Council we have developed this new role to provide outreach and housing support work for the victims of domestic abuse.

Working in partnership you will play a vital role to establish and develop this new service. You will act as a single point of contact within the team co-ordinating services to ensure that victims of domestic abuse are receiving appropriate housing support and assistance.

As well as working within the local community to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the services available for victims you will provide housing advice and support directly. To support your work you will have access to funding that can bring about change for service users.

To undertake this post you will need to demonstrate that you have experience of working with victims of domestic abuse and be able to demonstrate your knowledge of domestic abuse legislation and procedures such as MARAC and safeguarding.

Ideally you have experience of setting up projects, working on your own initiative. To fulfil the challenges of this this role you will need to understand the issues faced by the victims of domestic abuse.

In addition you will have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.

You will be required to have 5 GCSEs or the equivalent at Grade C or above or relevant experience. A full driving license and access to a car would be desirable to carry out this post.

It is also essential that you possess IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and knowledge on Data Protection and Confidentiality.
