ESIF Programme Manager Salary band: NECA Grade 11 £42,140 - £42,957 Host Employer: North East Combined Authority Contract length:up to 30th September 2018. Please note that secondments will be considered. The North East Local Enterprise Partnership works to make the North East a place where more businesses invest, grow and prosper, delivering more and better jobs for everyone. We are responsible for delivering the North East Strategic Economic Plan, bringing investment into the area including the £330m Local Growth Deal and championing the North East nationally and globally, to influence and shape the continued economic growth of the area. Covering the local authority areas of Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland, we are governed by a business led with its board including, chaired by former PwC Senior Partner Paul Woolston and with representatives from private businesses, higher and further education and the leaders and elected mayor of the seven local authority areas. The North East Combined Authority provides the accountable body arrangements for the North East Local Enterprise Partnership. The North East Strategic Economic Plan – which sets out a clear strategy for a stronger North East economy - is at the heart of our work. It has the vision for the North East economy to have 1 million jobs by 2020 and the portfolio covers skills, employability and inclusion, capital asset schemes, innovation, business support and access to finance projects and activities. To support the delivery of the Economic Plan we are responsible for bringing in and managing investment into the area and currently the North East LEP area has been notionally allocated £437m of European Structural Investment Funding (ESIF) over the 2014-2020 period. These funds, alongside other investment opportunities, offer significant investment opportunities to support local growth. We are seeking to recruit an experienced ESIF Programme Manager to work with partners and raise awareness of the 2014-2020 ESIF programmes across the North East. This will include running regional events to promote the launch of project calls, coordinating and supporting local partners with their local ESIF events, and supporting local partners in the development and management of a robust pipeline of ESIF projects that will support the delivery of the ESIF Operational Programmes, the North East LEP area ESIF Strategy and the Strategic Economic Plan. The successful candidate will be expected to have a working knowledge of managing UK government and European Funding streams within a partnership context.
