Sunderland City Council is seeking to appoint an experienced Ecologist to join the Planning Regeneration Team. The role will be for 48 month duration with a starting salary of £29,055.

Duties and responsibilities associated with the role include:
• Providing ecological advice to colleagues, developers and public
• Evaluate information submitted to support planning applications and discharge planning conditions
• Procure and manage contractors and consultants
• Review and manage nature conservation designations
• Undertake ecological surveys to support habitat creation and enhancement works
• Project management
• Provide an Ecological Clerk of Work role as required
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate that they have a sound knowledge of ecology and legislation pertaining to species and habitats. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and own their own and have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in this field.
