Enterprise Coordinator for the Enterprise Advisor Programme
North East Local Enterprise Partnership
Host Employer: North East Combined Authority

Fixed term contract to end August 2017

The North East Local Enterprise Partnership works to deliver more and better jobs for everyone.

We have an ambitious Skills Programme, aimed at addressing current and future skills needs and enabling young people to access the ‘more and better jobs’ our economic growth plans will create. Key to achieving this is effective Career Education through our North East Ambitions programmes.

Working in partnership with The Career & Enterprise Company, The North East LEP is part of a key nationwide initiative rolling out a network of Enterprise Advisors, volunteers from the world of work who will work directly with schools and college leaders to bridge the gap between the worlds of education and employment. Working directly with school and college leaders, Enterprise Advisors will be responsible for helping schools and colleges build employer engagement plans drawing on their own local business networks.

We are recruiting a third full-time Enterprise Coordinator to support the network of Enterprise Advisors. This role is pivotal in helping schools and colleges to improve their careers and enterprise activities and to engage with the world of work and to make it easier for employers and the self-employed to engage with schools and colleges.

The Enterprise Coordinator will also focus everyone’s efforts on programmes and activities that are most effective in motivating young people, supporting independent choice, and supporting positive outcomes for young people

We are seeking an experienced individual who can work strategically with schools, employers and other education partners. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills, be an effective negotiator and influencer and be able to translate policy into practice.

For an informal conversation please contact Denis Heaney, Enterprise Co-ordinator at North East LEP 0191 338 7447.
