We are seeking to appoint an energetic, inspirational and skilled teaching professional with significant experience of working in a diverse, multi-cultural environment to lead our Ethnic Minority Achievement Team (EMAT).
The Ethnic Minority Achievement Team is jointly funded by Middlesbrough Council and buy-back from primary and secondary schools through Service Level Agreements. The team supports English as an Additional Language/Asylum Seeker and Refugee and Gypsy/Roma/Travellers pupils in education and provide the International New Arrivals Support at Newport Community Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching professional to lead a small but effective and highly regarded EMAT support service. We are seeking a highly-skilled professional able to manage and motivate a peripatetic team and continue to develop the service to meet the changing needs of a highly-diverse community. The successful applicant must be committed to raising standards in teaching and learning for ethnic minority children, develop and sustain an effective child centred partnership while working within mainstream services and support families through multi-agency working.
Middlesbrough is a vibrant and culturally enriched town on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and within easy reach of the attractive North East coastline.
