Tudhoe Learning Trust was formed in 2012 with four academies and welcomed a further three academies in 2015. The Trust has a realistic development strategy to grow to a potential 12 academies within five years which is underpinned by a robust plan to ensure sustainability. Within this, the Trust has restructured its operational finance workflow with the aim of ensuring compliance and efficiency creating the need to expand the Trusts Central Finance Team to include a Finance Officer.

We are looking for a professionally qualified (or part qualified) and experienced Finance Officer for whom a term time working pattern is attractive. The role is initially offered on a part time basis of 20hrs per week worked over 5 mornings (negotiable). We can offer access to Local Government Pension Scheme and 26days holiday plus bank holidays rising to 31 days after 5 years service (pro-rata) and you can expect to receive continuing professional development identified and managed through our performance management appraisal process annually which ensures all staff are appropriately challenged and developed in line with Trust and functional objectives.

This role forms part of our workforce planning strategy and has the potential to develop further.

We would like our new colleague to start as soon as possible and be able to:

• Assist in the preparation of; management accounts, annual budgets, year-end accounts and financial returns to third parties
• Assist the Finance Manager in reconciling bank, payroll and ledgers
• Undertake appropriate quality assurance checks
• Prepare BACs payments
• Support the procurement process by handling invoices, purchases orders etc and liaising with our academies to ensure the goods and services are delivered
• Support the Finance Manager to prepare variance analysis reports covering income, payroll and expenditure
• Manage incoming communication via post, email and telephone
