Further Information
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service are recruiting firefighter apprentices to start their employment in September 2018.
The initial stages of the application process will be online and the registration window will be open from 09:00 on the 20th April 2018 until midnight on the 25th April 2018.

Eligible applicants must be aged 17 or older before September 10th 2018.
Should your initial application be successful you will be invited to participate in further stages of the recruitment process. Please note you must be successful at each stage to progress.
The recruitment stages are as follows:
1. Initial registration and application
2. Online situational judgement and behaviour assessments
3. Online ability tests in verbal, numerical and mechanical reasoning
4. Role related, practical assessments
5. Interview and presentation
6. Fitness tests and medical assessment
Successful apprentices will follow a tailored and structured training programme covering community safety, business fire safety and operational firefighting apprenticeship frameworks or standards. If successful you will receive the national minimum wage for apprenticeships in year 1 which will increase to national minimum wage in year 2. If you are successful and progress to year 3, national firefighter wages will apply.
